Checks run on a schedule, up to four times a day, between 07:00 and 21:00 in your marketplace timezone. So the honest answer is same day, not instantly. A change at 09:10 typically reaches you within a few hours; a change at 22:00 reaches you the next morning. Anything promising real-time Amazon monitoring is either polling harder than Amazon tolerates, or rounding up.
No. Checks and alerts run on public data — the search results page and the product page, exactly as a shopper sees them — so you can watch any ASIN, including products that are not yours. Connecting an Amazon Ads account is optional and unlocks two things: unlimited checks, and the ability for a position rule to change a keyword bid instead of only telling you about it.
Yes, and there is no card at any step. Checking a listing needs no account — five checks a session. Yes. Checks use public product data, so any ASIN in a supported marketplace can be watched. You do not need to own the listing, and you do not need an Amazon account of any kind to run a check. Three to five rival ASINs is the list length that actually gets read; beyond that the alerts get muted, which is worse than not having them.
Sometimes, but not reliably. Because checks are scheduled rather than continuous, a price alert catches a sustained change dependably and a fifteen-minute discount only if a check happens to land inside it. That is worth saying plainly: this is built for the price change that lasts, which is also the one that costs you money.
The check records the price a shopper sees on the product page, which is the buy-box price when a buy box is present. That is the number that affects your conversion, so it is the number the rule is evaluated against.
